Nature Bridge is a three-story bridge for pedestrians, located in the Abbasabad area of Tehran. This bridge provides a link between the two central parks of the capital. The lighting and unique features of it attracts many people, and especially at night it creates a dreamy atmosphere for the citizens of Tehran. The presence of cafes and restaurants has made the Nature Bridge an attractive destination for food lovers.
Architecture
Tabiat Bridge was designed by Leila Araghian as part of the local competition for the design of a bridge to connect two parks in the center of Tehran which were separated by a highway. The nature bridge has won several awards such as the global architectural competition based in New York and Agha Khan 2016 Award for architecture.
The style of the bridge was inspired by the architecture of Iranian bridges such as the Khajoo Bridge.
The design is tree-like and completely environmentally friendly. Similar examples have been built in national and natural parks in France, Canada, the Netherlands, Belgium, Malaysia and Australia. The tree form of the columns and the choice of the name “Nature” for the bridge, both emphasize the connection of the two green spaces (two parks) by the bridge.
This 270-meter-long bridge was built at a height of 40 meters and it allows you to see a beautiful view of the north and south side of Tehran. An interesting fact about the Nature Bridge is that it’s the first non-automobile bridge in the country and the largest one in the Middle East.
