Documents Required

Once you’ve confirmed your trip, you need to fill the application form and upload the following documents:

  • A colour scan of  your passport
  • An individual colour passport photo scanned
  • A detailed resume (a document that lists your education and employment history – similar to what you would prepare for a job application).
  • Your estimated arrival and departure time (flight ticket)

Once the application is submitted and all the documents have been received, we will submit your visa authorization code application to the MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs.). The MFA will only accept and process applications three months prior to the travel date and then it can take up to 2-3 months to be processed.

When it’s been approved, you will receive an email from us with your ‘Visa Grant Notice’ from the ministry. Your Visa Grant Notice includes your authorization code which is a bar-code.

Important Facts

  1. A visa for All passport holders from the USA, Canada, and the UK must be obtained through an Iranian Embassy.
  2.  A visa on arrival is NOT AVAILABLE for above nationalities.
  3. Getting visa for all passport holders from these nationalities has a longer processing time frame due to additional requirements and regulations.
  4. All passport holders from these nationalities must be accompanied by a licensed tour guide through their entire trip, join a pre-organized tour and confirmed itinerary. So, by booking the official tours, the agency usually will proceed on your visa process as well.
  5. It is highly recommended that these nationalities book their international flight ticket after receiving the Visa code (Visa application code or Reference code), as there have been several refusals.

European citizens are  required to apply for a visa from one of the Iranian diplomatic missions or visa upon arrival at the Iran international airports. The visa process for European citizens are so easy and it can take time less than one week.

Iranian visas For European and Other Citizens are issued in different process:

An authorization code for your visa must be issued by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

  1. A visa must then be obtained through an Iranian Embassy or
  2. Obtain visa on arrival (However, we highly suggest you have your visa already before travelling to Iran)

Submitting your Documents to MFA

Getting Visa at the Embassy

Once you have received our emailed authorization code, apply for your visa with your nominated Iranian embassy.

(You may post your Invitation Letter of Iran visa and passport (documents) to that Iranian Consulate or embassy and you will receive your visa by post after a few days.)

You will need to provide the following documents for GETTING VISA AT THE IRANIAN EMBASSY OR CONSULATE:

  • A completed visa application form (available for download from the embassy website. For your nearest Iranian Embassy please check the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website: www.mfa.gov.ir. Please note that your nearest embassy might be outside your home country.)
  • Your passport
  • Visa fee (check embassy website for current costs)
  • Colour passport photo
  • Insurance policy

Some embassy or consulate may have different requirements and the cost of an Iran visa varies for each embassy from $80-$180. Please check these with your nominated embassy or consulate.

Getting Visa On Arrival

If you want to COLLECT THE VISA UPON ARRIVAL:

  • Your Visa Grant Notice which contains your authorization code, a bar code (Please print this document as you will likely be asked to show this document when checking in for your flight to Iran).
  • Your passport
  • The visa fee in Euros
  • A colour passport photo
  • A copy of your insurance policy (please ensure it clearly states that it covers Iran. Some airport official does not recognise a ‘worldwide’ policy as covering Iran and also you need to purchase health insurance at the airport for around 15 Euros).

  • If you are opting to collect your visa on arrival please write or select ‘Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport IKIA”.
  • If you are opting to collect your visa on arrival the Authorization code is valid for 90 days from the date of issue. This means you have 90 days to enter the country.
  • If you are opting to collect your visa from the Iran embassy, the Authorization code is valid for 30 days from the date of issue. This means you need to apply for your visa within 30 days and before the code expires.
