The Complex of Niavaran is a garden of historical buildings and natural attractions situated close to the mountains in the north of Tehran. Its origin goes back to the Qajar dynasty where the garden was used as a summer residence. The main palace was completed in 1968 and it was the primary residence of the last king of Iran. The Ahmad Shahi pavilion is the most important building in the complex and this attractive two-storey mansion dating from the early 20th century was last used as the residence of the crown prince Reza.
