Iran is full of natural attractions and beautiful landscapes. By traveling to any corner of this ancient land, you can always find new places with unique experiences. These natural attractions can be seen more in the northern regions of the country. One of these magnificent natural landscapes is the Hasal Lagoon.
Near the village of Sinawa, 10 km from the city of Chalous and near the city of Marzanabad, there is a beautiful swamp with a wonderful and unique view called Hessel. The Hessel Lagoon is located in the middle of a dense and beautiful forest. This lagoon has a unique color and beauty in each season.
Why is the Hessel Lagoon special?
There are algae on top of the lagoon water that appear green in spring and summer and turns the lagoon into a bright and precious emerald. As soon as summer is over, it gradually changes color to red and orange, making the appearance of the swamp warm and fiery. The color is in perfect harmony with the surrounding trees and creates a magical landscape.
In the native language of the people of that region which is a local dialect of Mazandaran, the word Hessel means seasonal catchment.
The natives also call this swamp a torch because of its brightness throughout the year.
The travel season here depends on what color you like the best. However, many who have experienced going to the swamp say that the best time to travel is May and June, when the flowers have blossomed and the humidity does not bother you. Many also believe Autumn is one of the best times to see this swamp because each side has a different color
It’s as if nature has started to use all its magical power to create this majestic scenery that will keep it in your mind for a very long time.
